Video QR
A QR code that lives inside your video.
Upload a short clip of your cafe, your truck or your product. MayQR melts one of your codes into the footage, checks that a phone can really scan it, and hands you back a clip ready to post.
A Max feature. Every render is scan-tested before you download it.
Straight out of the studio
Real footage, real codes.
Three clips made with the same studio you get. Every frame of each one reads in our scan test.
Where a video code goes to work
Six things a code inside a clip can do.
Codes are turning up on websites, on TV and on screens in shops and venues, not only on print. A few seconds of video with a code in it can send the viewer to the full video, a product page, an affiliate link or anywhere else you point it, and a Smart code can be re-pointed after the clip is out.
Teaser clip
Post a few seconds of the video. The scan opens the full one.
Product snippet
Show the product in use. The scan lands on its product page.
Affiliate and referral links
Point the code at your affiliate or referral link. It travels with the clip wherever it is shared.
TV and video ads
Put the code in the ad itself. A viewer scans the screen and lands on the offer.
Screens in shops, events and venues
Loop the clip on a screen. A passer-by scans it for the menu, the ticket or the sign-up.
Property and listing walkthroughs
Show a few seconds of the walkthrough. The scan opens the full listing.
Example footage. The code in each one is real.
How it works
Four steps, one clip.
- Step 1
Upload a clip
MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 30 seconds. Shoot the calmest few seconds you have: the code needs a quiet patch of frame to sit in.
- Step 2
Pick a code you can re-point later
The video is permanent once you post it. A MayQR code is not: change where it points whenever you like, and every scan lands in your analytics.
- Step 3
Tune it and watch it live
Ink, backing card, size and position, dragged over the calmest part of the clip. The preview runs the same blend as the final render, so what you see is what you get.
- Step 4
Scan-tested before you download
Every render is checked against a real decoder first. If it does not read, we tell you, and you get three free re-adjusts within 24 hours that do not count against your renders.
The honest part
What scans, and what does not.
Measured on real footage, not guessed. Here is what we found.
Scans best
- Calm footage with one large subject. A pour, a plate set down, a hand-off.
- A light card behind the code lifts almost anything. Raise it before you raise the ink.
Needs a stronger card
- Very dark footage. The code has nothing to contrast against, so the card has to supply it.
- Busy detail such as hair, foliage or fine texture. Raise the card, or move the code to a quieter patch of frame.
Good to know
- Renders take two to five minutes. The clip is checked automatically first, then rendered, then scan-tested.
- 25 renders a month on Max, with three free re-adjusts on each within 24 hours.
Max, $29 a month.
Includes portal video too.
